The Crew Chronicles
Surf’s up for another crewmate! Allow us to introduce you to…
What project at UOTB has had the biggest impact on you?
One of my most memorable projects was writing for MedTech products in the field of Neuromodulation, specifically Deep Brain Stimulation systems. I was amazed at how much I learned about this technology that improves lives of those with Parkinson’s Disease and Essential Tremor. Even more amazing is how I saw my Mother-In-Law’s symptoms in the work I was doing. Up until then, she had been told her symptoms were caused by stress. After sharing what I had learned with her, she saw a neurologist who diagnosed her with Essential Tremor. It was an eye-opening experience for me – both professionally and personally.
What has been your favorite client feedback at UOTB?
I wrote a series of speeches for a C-suite executive for an annual sales meeting. Since speeches are so personal and I hadn’t worked with the client before, it was stressful. But after the event I received a message saying, “These speeches were great, and I didn’t change a thing. Thank you!” That was a relief. EDITOR’S NOTE: Client feedback was far more enthusiastic than stated here.
What are you doing when you’re not at the beach?
You’ll likely find me at our cabin in Northern Wisconsin during the summer and the rest of the year I’m busy cheering the Blackhawks and Bears, reading, journaling, baking and dreaming up our next travel adventure. Our most recent trip was in Belgium and Norway.
